Hai Di Lao @ Gurney Paragon Mall

Recently, Hai Di Lao has opened in Gurney Paragon Mall and there is always a long line to wait. But finally, I get to try Hai Di Lao and the services they offered.

Now, you guys might know that Hai Di Lao is famous for the service and the food – of course.

It wasn’t a long wait, approximately a 10 minutes wait to get to our table.

First, you will be asked if you want to eat now or late, then you will type your name and phone number, you will get this yellow ticket thing. While waiting for your number to be called, there is a lot of snacks, fruits, drinks and dessert and manicure for you.

Selection of fruits, dessert and snacks.
Free Popcorn

Once, we were seated. We were greeted with so much welcomed, warmness and happiness. I felt happy somehow. I was given a wet wipes for my glasses and my phone & a hair tie. They also offered us a warm towel to wipe our hands, they will often come to your table to change a new towel for you. The waitress explained to us on how to order the menu and what the things are for.

The menu was all in an Ipad so it was easier. There was a selection of soups, so I was overwhelmed and decide to order 4 types of soup which is Sichuan Hot Pot, £ Delicacy, Spicy Pickled and Tomato Soup. For the soup you can actually request or add on the spicyness and the numbness to it . So it is all your choice and it’s free.

4 Types of soup

Last but not least, the long awaited noodle performance. That everyone is anticipated for. I was truly scared that the noodle will part it ways and hit to my face! BUT IT DIDN’T!

This was the noodle performance that I got.

Variety of sauces & chillis

In Hai Di Lao, you can also choose the sauce or chilli you want. Each person is RM 8 and it is refillable !

Overall, I would love to come here again without a doubt. Not just the service that is perfect but the food and the soup is also delicious and made me think about it after weeks.

I would totally recommend this to everyone to try out but this is a non-halal restaurant.

MK RESTAURANT

I have been wanting to eat this for such a long time.. and finally I tried to eat the steamboat and it was really delicious. The chili was perfectly matched with the meat. The set comes with meat, squid, dumplings and etc. The soup was not spicy and it was mouth watering. As for the green noddle as you can see the pictures above, it is topped with a crushed nuts on top and mixed both together well and then wee you can eat it. The noodle itself is tasty and delicious with the meat.

Rating: 9/10

Location: near Siam Paragon ( i think so)

Penang Food Trip

Hello, how are you guys during these quarantine time ~

I will talk about places and restaurant in Penang that is *chef kiss* that has a special place in my heart ❤ but this is just my opinion. If you guys dislike it then good for you!

Penang is always filled with tourists that has the same destination like the art street, famous food vendors, unique cafes and restaurants. (P.s this is not endorse)

1. Da Shu Xia Restaurant

Address: 177C, Lebuh Victoria, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang

What do they sell? Seafood!

The price range are relatively moderate, depending on what you order and the weight of the food. Whenever its holiday season, tables will be filled with tourist and no parking will be available.

I have been eating here for so long that it is a MUST GO TO place in Penang. The food always arrive so fast and hot. Not like those restaurant where they cook fast but the food is uncooked. Previously, it was located opposite the bus station but it has moved to a new place. But the food taste still the same and top-notch.

The food that I always order is the cakue and the soft shell crab salted egg! Periodt.

Here are some photos:

Fried cakue

The fried cakue is stuffed with some veggies or some shrimp if I am not wrong.

Sapo tahu, Soft Shell Crab, Spicy Pork leg

2. Deens Maju Nasi Kandar

Address: 170, Jalan Gurdwara, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang

Vietnam Guide Food Trip

Hello friends!

About the Vietnam trip it was years ago & I went there for 6 days if I am not wrong. It was fun and adventurous, a little bit out of my comfort zone.

It was an early morning flight, when we arrived it was still in the morning – pretty tired and hungry due to lack of sleep and food I had on the flight.

We ordered Grab to go to the hotel. The hotel is located in the city. Hence, finding food and transportation is very convenient. As you know, Vietnam are very famous of their coffee and their beer. Once we check in to the hotel, we straight away and walk to the famous coffee shop, it was a 15 minutes walk to the shop.

Chocolate Coffee

The chocolate coffee was actually better than the beer coffee. It wasn’t the best. It was a strong drink for the morning, as both the coffee and beer are STRONG!! For the drinks, it was relatively cheap and the ambiance was dark at the entrance but once you entered. We were greeted with natural sunlight from the top.

After the quickie drink, we walk to find a delicious Bun Cha. One of the famous food in Vietnam is Bun Cha. I have seen Mr Obama and Chef Anthony tried the Bun Cha in one of the restaurant in Vietnam. But sadly I didn’t went there as the hotel receptionist advised us to go to a more authentic Bun Cha restaurant in Hanoi. I did a little research on what is Bun Cha, that time I knew it was pretty famous and it is a non-halal dish.

AHA!! here is the most awaited food that I have been wanting to try because of MR OBAMA 🙂 There is actually steps on how to eat it but unfortunately I forgot. I think it was dipping the white rice noodles into the soup and get a bite of the grilled pork meatballs. I enjoy the dish because they offered an unlimited amount of Cili Padi/ Bird Eye Chilli/ Cabe Merah. And a lot of vegetables, I must say. It was a big portion just for myself & that was the smallest portion they offer. The shop was quite huge as it has 3/4 floors. It was a lovely dinner, the place was packed with people maybe because it’s lunch time.

The shop name is “Bun Cha Ta”

This was my first day in Hanoi and I was pretty drained out. Communicating with the locals were difficult but thank god for google translation and hand gestures. Ah! and a little bit of tip, about their traffic and walking to one place to another must be much more careful. The vehicles are like fast and furious on Panadol literally no play games sis!!

Alright that’s it for now. Stay safe and don’t go out to crowded places due to the Covid-19!!

Alamak @ Jalan Argyll

Today, I am going to try the food and drinks in ALAMAK. This place is famous for those who would like to have a supper or just hang out with their friends and family.

Not just that but it is famous for its Coconut Shake and their Koay Teow Basah.

food
The menu

The Koay Teow Basah is topped with three prawns and I asked them to add more spicy. So, when I eat it there is an extra kick to it. Which I enjoy. The Koay Teow is mixed with crsipy chicken skin all over.

Bossku Milo Nugget 5 pcs ( RM8.90)

At first, I was a little bit skeptical when ordering this because it is out of my comfort zone and it will taste weird. But I was brave enough to ordered and give it a try.

It was served with some sauce maybe a mayo or thousand island. ( I am not quite sure) But I dip with the sauce and it tasted somewhat tasty. The nuggets sticks together so it was really difficult to separate them and it is very sweet as well.

Coconut Shake (RM5.50)

The Coconut Shake is cheap, as the portion is quite big and as for the taste I can taste the coconut very thick. Not like the others Coconut Shake that are has a vague taste of coconut. But this Coconut Shake is very “coconutty” & THICK! With an ice cream on top just make the drink more refreshing.

Overall, I really love the ambiance of the food stall. The service was great and the food came out quite fast.

It is Stephanie Approved (9/10) !

Taste was delicious and it fits to the price range as well.

XING FU TANG

As you guys now, boba / pearl or anything is circle and its brown sugar has been trending and it’s a HIT! basically everywhere even in Jakarta. I was thrilled and excited when there is a new Xing Fu Tang shop near my area. Since the first shop opened in BM. This was my opportunity to try this bad boys out, making me curious of this drinks. People kept on talking about how delicious the drinks are. So these are my own opinions about their drinks.

Brown Sugar Boba Milk

I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Milk and Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta. The boba was like it has been infused by the brown sugar. It was sweet and soft but not to hard to bite on. The boba actually tasted good, I personally would give a 9/10. There was a girl that actually cook the bubble right in front of you (which is kinda of their special) It was steaming hot when she pours it in the plastic cup.

Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta

And looked at this hot and steamy boba that is ready to be served.

Hello I’m Stephanie. I am still studying and I have been wanting to try blogging for years but I kept on delaying for some unknown reasons. But I am finally here doing what I have been wanting to do since high school haha!

I don’t know what my blog is going to be about but I am pretty sure it’s going to be about food because that’s the only thing that I ever love in my life. Food will never betray me but it sure help me gain A LOT OF WEIGHT !

The idea of blogging started when I began to enjoy taking photos of everything (mostly food) but nowadays I would just take photos of my dogs and turtles.. and food…
